Connecting multiple iOS devices to your computer

AirServer allows you to connect multiple iOS devices simultaneously. Each device would connect in the same way. For instructions on connecting an iOS device to a computer, view this article.

As each new device connects, AirServer will automatically split the screen to accommodate for each new device.

Please note, the number of iOS devices that you can simultaneously stream to a computer would depend on the strength and speed of your network and computer. There is no exact way to measure the needed bandwidth to support multiple connections, as it would vary depending on the content being streamed from the iOS devices. Many classrooms have reported between 16 and 20 devices being able to simultaneously connect.

To get the maximum number of devices connected simultaneously, you may want to try the following:
  • Try connecting your computer to the network with an ethernet cable.
  • If you are using non-Apple bluetooth devices, they could be interfering with the Wireless connection. Try turning off all bluetooth devices that aren’t from Apple.
  • Make sure the firmware on your router is updated. Visit the router manufacturer’s website to download and install the latest firmware.
  • For better performance, but lower quality, select the “slow network” option under the mirroring tab in AirServer settings/preferences.
