You can use AirServer as an extended display for a Mac, Windows 10, or Windows 11 computer. This lets you drag windows and applications onto the AirServer screen, using it as an additional monitor rather than mirroring your main display.
Before you start
- Make sure AirServer is running on your Mac, Windows PC, or AirServer Connect device.
- Connect the computer you want to extend from to the same Wi-Fi network as the device running AirServer. On AirServer Connect, you can also join the Guest Hotspot if it is enabled.
On Mac
- macOS Ventura (13) and later
- Open Control Center and click Screen Mirroring.
- Select your AirServer device from the list.
- Click Change in the Screen Mirroring dialog.
- Select Extended Display, then click Extend Display.
- macOS Monterey (12) and earlier
- Click the AirPlay icon in the menu bar.
- Select your AirServer device.
- Click the AirPlay icon again and select Use As Separate Display.
On Windows 10 or Windows 11
- Press Windows key + K to open the Cast panel.
- Select your AirServer device from the list.
- Press Windows key + P to open the Project menu.
- Select Extend.
Limitations
You can only extend to AirServer from a Mac or Windows PC. Phones and tablets can mirror to AirServer but cannot use it as an extended display.
