Some apps, such as YouTube or the iOS-native Music, Videos or Photos apps, are AirPlay-enabled. This means you can stream this content to an AirPlay receiver without mirroring. Some older iOS devices and Mac 10.5.8 do not support mirroring, but would support streams from AirPlay-enabled apps.
On iOS 11 or newer:
- When playing content from your AirPlay-enabled apps, swipe up from the bottom of your screen to bring up the Control Center.
Please note that on iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and any iPad you access Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner.
- Tap the Screen Mirroring icon to see a list of available AirPlay receivers on your network.
- Tap the name of your computer on which you are running AirServer.
On iOS 7, iOS 8, iOS 9 or iOS 10:
- When playing content from your AirPlay-enabled apps, swipe up from the bottom of your screen to bring up the Control Center.
- Tap the AirPlay icon to see a list of available AirPlay receivers on your network.
- Tap the name of your computer on which you are running AirServer.
If you do not see the AirPlay icon, or your computer is not showing, visit the troubleshooting section for AirServer Universal, AirServer Windows 10 Desktop Edition or AirServer for Mac.
On iOS 6 or older:
- When playing content from your AirPlay-enabled apps, the AirPlay icon would be visible within the navigation bar.
- Tap the AirPlay icon to see a list of available AirPlay receivers on your network.
- Tap the name of your computer on which you are running AirServer.
If you do not see the AirPlay icon, or your computer is not showing, visit the troubleshooting section for AirServer Universal, AirServer Windows 10 Desktop Edition or AirServer for Mac.
Please note that DRM protected content does not work with AirServer.
