You may have to configure your firewall to allow AirServer to receive incoming networking traffic. In order to achieve this, you should make a firewall exception for AirServer within your firewall settings. 


Also, ensure the same is done on any secondary firewalls your computer may have (Windows Defender for example). Below are some guides to help configure the firewall settings within some of the most common firewall software.



Windows Security (Defender) (Windows 10)
  1. Open up Settings from the Start Menu.
  2. Go to "Update & Security" and open "Windows Security".
  3. Press "Firewall & Network Protection".
  4. Click on "Allow an app through firewall".
  5. Press "Change settings". 
  6. Scroll down to AirServer Universal and make sure it is allowed on both Private and Public networks by ticking the boxes.
  7. Scroll down to mDNS and make sure it is allowed on both Private and Public networks by ticking the boxes.
  8. Press OK and reboot the computer.


Norton 360
  1. Double click the Norton 360 icon in your system tray.
  2. Go into Settings.
  3. Choose "Virus and Spyware Protection."
  4. Click the file exclusions tab.
  5. Add an exclusion for C:\Program Files\App Dynamic\AirServer\AirServer.exe

 

McAfee Security Center
  1. Double-click the task bar icon to open SecurityCenter.
  2. Click Advanced Menu (bottom).
  3. Click Configure (left).
  4. Click Internet & Network (top Left).
  5. Click Advanced (right).
  6. Click Program Permissions (left).
  7. Add permissions for C:\Program Files\App Dynamic\AirServer\AirServer.exe

 

Kaspersky
  1. Open the Kaspersky application.
  2. Click the Settings button.
  3. In the left part of the Settings window, go to the Advanced Settings tab.
  4. In the left part of the Settings window, select "Threats and Exclusions."
  5. In the right part of the settings window, click the Settings button in the Exclusions section.
  6. In the Trusted Zone window, go to the Trusted applications tab.
  7. In the Trusted Zone window, click the Add button.
  8. Find and select this folder: C:\Program Files\App Dynamic\AirServer\AirServer.exe
  9. In the open window, Exclusions for Application, select the settings for the trusted application and give AirServer permissions to send and receive traffic.
  10. Click on the OK button in the Exclusions for Application Window.
  11. Click on the OK button in the Trusted Zone window.
  12. Click the OK button in the Settings Window.
  13. Close the Kaspersky application window.

Symantec Endpoint Protection
  1. You will want to use an Application Trigger for C:\Program Files\App Dynamic\AirServer\AirServer.exe

AVG Internet Security
  1. Double-click the AVG icon on your desktop to open the AVG antivirus.
  2. Click the Menu icon in the top right corner and select Settings.
  3. Make sure that the General tab is selected from the left panel, then click the downward facing arrow next to Exceptions to expand the section.
  4. Select the File paths tab.
  5. Press Browse and go to the file path for C:\Program Files\App Dynamic\AirServer\AirServer.exe
  6. Click Add.

Avast Premier or Avast Internet Security
  1. Open the Avast software and select Protection in the left menu.
  2. Choose Firewall
  3. Click on Applications Settings at the bottom of the window
  4. Click on New Group and name it AirServer
  5. Click on New Application Rule and select AirServer
  6. Locate and add C:\Program Files\App Dynamic\AirServer\AirServer.exe
  7. Make sure to allow all connections for C:\Program Files\App Dynamic\AirServer\AirServer.exe



ESET Endpoint Security
  1. Open up the ESET application and press Setup on the left side in the navigation menu.
  2. Select "Toggle Advanced Mode" and press Yes in the dialogue box that appears.
  3. Select "Personal firewall" underneath Setup in the left navigation menu.
  4. Press "Configure rules and zones..." and press "New" in the window that appears.
  5. Enter "AirServer" in the name field. Make sure Direction is set to "Both" and Action set to "Allow"
  6. Go to the "Local" tab and press "Browse...".
  7. Navigate to C:\Program Files\App Dynamic\AirServer\ and select AirServer.exe.
  8. Go to the "Zone and rule setup" tab and make sure all columns are set to "Allow" within "Zones.
  9. Restart your computer.
