Windows 10 and Windows 11 have screen mirroring built in through Miracast. No additional software is required on your PC.
Before you start
- Make sure AirServer is running on your Windows PC or AirServer Connect device.
- Connect your PC to the same Wi-Fi network as the device running AirServer.
- Your PC needs to have Miracast-compatible hardware, meaning both a supported Wi-Fi adapter and graphics card. See How can I check if my Windows PC supports Miracast? for details.
- Note that AirServer for Mac does not support Miracast, so you cannot mirror from a Windows PC to a Mac running AirServer.
How to mirror your Windows PC
- Press Windows key + K to open the Cast panel.
- Select your AirServer device from the list of available displays.
- If AirServer is configured to require a PIN, a code will appear on the AirServer screen. Enter it on your PC.
To stop mirroring, press Windows key + K again and click Disconnect.
If your Windows PC doesn't support Miracast
If your PC doesn't have Miracast-compatible hardware, you can use Google Cast through Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as an alternative:
- Open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
- Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
- Select Cast (Chrome) or Cast media to device (Edge).
- Choose your AirServer device from the list.
- In the Sources dropdown, select Cast desktop to mirror your whole screen (or Cast tab to mirror only the browser tab).
If AirServer doesn't appear in the list
If AirServer is not visible in the Cast panel, or the connection fails, visit the troubleshooting section for AirServer Universal or AirServer Windows 10 Desktop Edition.
For Miracast-specific troubleshooting (discovery issues, dropped connections, channel problems), see Troubleshooting Miracast on AirServer Connect.
