Most Android phones and tablets have screen mirroring built in. The steps depend on your device: Samsung devices use their own mirroring feature called Smart View, while most other Android devices use Google Cast.

Before you start

  • Make sure AirServer is running on your Mac, Windows PC, or AirServer Connect device.
  • Connect your phone or tablet to the same Wi-Fi network as the device running AirServer. On AirServer Connect, you can also join the Guest Hotspot if it is enabled.

How to mirror from a standard Android device (Pixel, OnePlus, and most others)

Most Android devices use Google Cast for screen mirroring, which is built into the operating system. You can access it in two ways.

  • From Quick Settings (fastest)
  1. Swipe down from the top of your screen to open Quick Settings. On some devices, you may need to swipe down twice to see all tiles.
  2. Tap the Cast or Screen Cast tile.
  3. Select your AirServer device from the list.

If you don't see a Cast tile, you can add one by editing your Quick Settings tile layout, or use the Settings app method below instead.

  • From the Settings app
  1. Open the Settings app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Go to Connected devices → Cast (or Screen Cast, depending on your Android version).
  3. Select your AirServer device from the list.

To stop mirroring

Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the notification panel, then press Disconnect on the Cast notification.

How to mirror from a Samsung device

Samsung phones and tablets use Smart View for screen mirroring, which is based on the Miracast protocol.

  1. Swipe down from the top of your screen with two fingers to open the full Quick Settings panel.
  2. Tap Smart View.
  3. Select your AirServer device from the list.

To stop mirroring, tap Smart View again and select Disconnect.

If AirServer doesn't appear

If AirServer is not visible in the mirroring list, or the connection fails, see the troubleshooting section for AirServer UniversalAirServer Windows 10 Desktop Edition or AirServer for Mac.
